Why is Aamir Khan so fond of Katrina Kaif?

Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif

Why is Aamir Khan so fond of Katrina Kaif?

After Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, the latest in the growing list of B-town super dudes enamoured by the gorgeous babe is Aamir Khan!

There’s something magical about Katrina Kaif! Those (read: heroes) who’ve worked with the leggy lass can’t stop raving about her and sharing their experiences of working with her. The gorgeous babe who turned 30 recently has also found new admirers in younger actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sidharth Malhotra, who are quite keen to share screen space with the elegant beauty some day. Hmmm…
Aamir Khan too, we hear, is quite charmed by Kat, to the extent that he made his pleasure at working with his Dhoom:3 star felt when she managed to take time out for a special screening of his wife Kiran Rao’s Ship of Theseus. While talking to a newspaper Khan said, “I’m so happy that she could come, that too on her birthday. I might throw her a party as a birthday gift soon.” From what we hear, the perfectionist actor has become very protective of his ‘good friend’ (stop imagining anything romantic, sillies! Aamir is married, and happily so!), to the extent that he even helps her by exchanging ideas and motivates her. Lucky Kat!

Alia Bhatt: Lootera is very beautiful!

Alia Bhatt wants to a period film

Alia Bhatt: Lootera is very beautiful!

The actor is so impressed with the Ranveer Singh-Sonakshi Sinha movie that she wants to star in a period film now

Watching Lootera has left an impact on young actor Alia Bhatt, who now wants to do a period film. She is not lured in just for the story, but also for the kind of style and look that it promises.
“I would, at least once in my career, love to do a period film. I think a period film is not only very emotional and very dramatic, the kind of fashion you get to do is outstanding,” the 20-year-old said on Monday at the unveiling of the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine featuring her.
“It’s ostentatious, beautiful, vibrant and everything is detailed. So I would love to do a period film, not only for the role, but also for fashion,” she added.
Alia even had a special word of mention for the recently released Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh-starrer Lootera, the story of which is set in 1950s.
“Of course, I love Lootera. If you see, Lootera is very beautiful. Every scene is delicate and yet stands out in your face,” Alia said.
Talking about the kind of films she wants to do in her career, Alia said: “I have an idea of the different kind of films I want to do. I just want to do lots of films and everything should be different, something that challenges me and caters to the need of the audience as well.”
Alia has finished shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s Highway with Randeep Hooda. She is currenly shooting for 2 States with Arjun Kapoor.

Saraswatichandra: Will Kumud regret marrying Pramad?

Saraswatichandra: Will Kumud regret marrying Pramad?

Saraswatichandra: Will Kumud regret marrying Pramad?

It was a decision taken in haste. It was supposed to be the remedy for a bruised ego and broken heart, but looks like this decision will cost Kumud (Jennifer Winget) her entire life

Saraswatichandra’s Kumud agreed to tie the knot to Pramad Dhan Dharmadhikari (Anshul Trivedi) when Saras (Gautam Rode) refused to marry her. She still loves Saras, but his betrayal was unpardonable. Kumud decides to start life anew, but is in for a rude shock when she sees her new husband flirting with someone else in their bedroom.
That’s the first glimpse of the real Pramad that Kumud gets, and it’s definitely not pleasant. If truth is to be spilled out, Pramad is a spoilt brat and has no purpose in life. His aimless and destructive nature has his parents worried. They hoped that marriage will change their beloved son, but a dog never changes its spots, right?
In the upcoming episodes, Kumud’s entire life will be dictated by Pramad. At first she will be reluctant to his absurd demands, but will then take it as fate and comply with it. She will regret marrying in haste and miss Saras, but bow down to fate. Kumud will try to forget Saras, but it is obviously not that easy for her. On the other hand, Saras, who has got himself emancipated from his father, will immerse himself in work. His workaholic nature will make his friends worry.
The two will constantly miss each other, but promise to never take their names. But fate has a face to face meeting scheduled for them soon enough; will they reunite or will they hold on to their egos. Keep watching to find out!

Shruti Haasan plays sex worker in D-Day

Shruti Haasan plays sex worker in D-Day: View pic

Shruti Haasan plays sex worker in D-Day

Looks like the young actor is taking up daring roles quite early in her Bollywood career

After all, she is the daughter of the legendary Kamal Haasan, who is always ready to go to any extent to play different characters. Well, Shruti Haasan will play a Karachi-based sex worker in Nikhil Advani’s D-Day.
The film has Arjun Rampal in the lead role. According to sources, Arjun plays a RAW agent, who falls for Shruti, a call girl from Napier Road, Karachi. In the picture, true to her character, the babe is seen in a bold hot avatar steaming it up. The star cast of the movie includes actors like Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan too.
D-Day is reportedly based on Indo-Pak rivalry and how the Indian agencies go all out to nail Dawood Ibrahim, played by the Agneepath villain.

Arjun Rampal: Ten years hence I’ll be proud of Chakravyuh and Inkaar!

Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal: Ten years hence I’ll be

proud of Chakravyuh and Inkaar!

The most dashing dude in B-town discusses his latest action flick D-Day, having three releases this year, being extra choosy, Prakash Jha, friendship and much more…

Arjun Rampal doesn’t conform to any norms that bind most actors in Bollywood. He seems like an outsider, even after having spent more than a decade in showbiz. Arjun’s count of projects done is limited, but that’s more a matter of deliberation rather than deficiency. Given that, this might be the most crowded diary his has been in years. He wants the audience, his fans, particularly his close ones to remember him for his good work, be it in Rock OnRaajneetiChakravyuhInkaar or this Friday’s release, D-DayArjun has always aspired to be a cut above the rest, and he now looks forward to his latest film
D-Day looks like a well-researched action packed thriller. How did the movie make the grade for you?
It started with just an idea Nikhil had, and I didn’t know Nikhil well initially. Of course I had seen his work. One day he dropped in on the sets of Inkaar and told me that he wanted to do an realistic espionage thriller. Knowing that he did films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, I asked him whether he really wanted to do a film like this one. He said he had an idea – If the Americans can get into Afghanistan and nab Osama Bin Laden, why can’t we trap Dawood? It was fascinating. After three months, Nikhil narrated the script to me and it had such wonderful energy. It was well-researched too. After that he threw another ace at me that I couldn’t refuse – Tom Struthers, the action director of (popular Hollywood Batman film) Dark Knight. And then the wonderful casting of Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan happened. I knew something different was being attempted and something really honest was going to come out of it. I saw sincerity in Nikhil and his determination to actually make a film that nobody would associate him with.
You have a different yet cool and rugged look in the film….
The look is very important for every character you play, just to differentiate it from your earlier ones. I do two or three films in a year… how do those characters look different? It’s very important, because it changes your body language and you start looking at yourself as that character in the mirror. I wanted to grow a beard for D-Day because my character wants to go to Karachi and the first thing you do as a spy is to blend into the atmosphere. That was the key element.
Of the three films you have this year, Inkaar has been released and D-Day andSatyagraha are coming up. Is this a consciously planned strategy?
Sometimes you get good projects that you like to be part of, you say yes to those. Now that generally isn’t time bound. If you could plan and control that, which I cannot, then it’s a different thing. I do one film at a time and that’s why you see different looks of mine. I take at least two or three weeks off between films so that I don’t get exhausted. I’m not in any rush to do many films.
In recent years you’ve become extra choosy as far as your work is concerned….
Yes, my choice of the kinds of films I would like to be part of has changed, because of my experiences. I’m 12 years old in this industry now. From now onwards, it’s a conscious decision – what I realised is that one day I’ll die or I’ll be old, sitting at home with my grandchildren and children and if I had to put on a DVD and show them what kind of work I did, I shouldn’t be cringing. I would like to be remembered for my past. So I choose characters and parts to be recognised. The kind of films I do make me happy. If you don’t feel satisfied as an actor after working on a film, then how can you satisfy anybody else?
So what films do you want your loved ones to remember?
I can count quite a few – Rock On, Raajneeti, The Last Lear, Om Shanti Om… Inkaar andChakravyuh didn’t set the box office ablaze. But whatever it is, ten years down the line I’ll be proud of Chakravyuh and Inkaar, as opposed to me being part of a really big commercial blockbuster which two months later we’ll be wondering, how on earth did this film work!
Were you apprehensive, considering Nikhil’s track record as a filmmaker?
No, because I have gone through that. I have gone through a spate of films that haven’t worked, but if I had continued doing the same things and making the same mistakes over and over again….this is what I do and this is all that I can do! Right?
After Om Shanti Om, if there’s any film that has changed the game for you, it’sRaajneeti
Rock On too. I won a National Award for that and then came Raajneeti.
Yes, but Raajneeti, in a way, changed people’s perceptions of you as they saw your real and serious side as an actor. People close to you believe that you trust Prakash Jha blindly…
I don’t trust anybody blindly. I trust people for what they are, or what I can see them to be. Prakash Jha is an extremely talented and intelligent filmmaker. Raajneeti was offered to me five years before the film even went on the floors. I was the first person to sign on. So when everybody thought that models can’t act and my movies weren’t doing well, Prakash told me about my character in Raajneeti. It took him five years to get things arranged for Raajneeti, because he does lot of research. Friendships are built on trust, but you don’t trust people blindly. I trust Prakash Jha’s instincts and respect his vision and don’t question him.
Prakash Jha comes across as a little biased towards his friend Manoj Bajpayee, because in every film he places Manoj’s character a notch higher than the rest. Do you ever complain about that to him?
(Smiles) I think Prakash gives Manoj work that he truly believes Manoj can pull off like nobody else can. He puts life into his characters and he thinks Manoj would bring the best to the kind of character he sees in that part. He has tremendous respect for Manoj – he had an interesting character in Chakravyuh too, but it wasn’t the main lead. Similarly, Manoj trusts him on that level. Prakash can create those kinds of equations.
What’s next?
After Satyagraha, there’s Villain by a new director. It’s a dark, action packed film. I’ll start shooting Roy towards the end of the year with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Singh.

Have you seen Poonam Pandey’s butt?

poonam pandey

Have you seen Poonam Pandey’s butt?

Starlet Poonam Pandey can go to any lengths to grab attention. This time around the queen of controversy does it by wearing nothing but a teeny-weeny thong in her debut movie Nasha

When Poonam Pandey decided to strip for the cricketing heroes way back in 2011, it was amply clear that the babe was desperate to break into the world of showbiz. Ever since that moment of glory, Poonam has been showing what she is made of….literally! The desperate for attention damsel is always looking for an opportunity to shed her clothes, indulge in skin show and speed straight into the headlines. This no-brainer strategy to stay in the limelight has worked for Pandey so far and she is getting increasingly famous for…err…being famous!
And now Poonam has a valid cause to show off her true ‘potential’. For her new erotic movie Nasha the gal has been showing her assets. First we saw her long legs on the movie poster, then her bare back and now – wait for it – her behind!
Here’s Poonam in a thong as tiny as dental floss, putting up her assets on display. Clearly, the still – and Pandeys’ pert butt – is photoshopped and air-brushed to make it all look smooth, shiny and enticing. Take a long look at Poonam’s naughty endeavour and tell us if she is going the right way to attain the fame she’s lusting after. Also, let us know: Do you find Poonam hot, titillating, super-sexy or just sheer desperate!

Thumbs up for Issaq’s latest track – Jheeni re jheeni!

Issaq song Jheeni re jheeni video

Thumbs up for Issaq’s latest track –

Jheeni re jheeni!

Jheeni re jheeni song from Issaq is a poignant number reflecting the plight of film’s lead actors.

Prateik and Amyra Dastur in a modern day Romeo-Juliet story set in Benaras, have this lingering number Jheeni re jheeni that sets the mood for the film perfectly.
This latest track is beautiful with a certain charm around its delicate notes that reminds us of a folk song on lost love. The video too is just as impactful. It opens with Amyra Dastur’s mother (Rajeshwari Sachdev) telling her daughter that her marriage is fixed. The reaction in the music that follows, is the same as you witness – heartbreak, it really makes you feel for the star crossed lovers Prateik and Amyra.
Singers Rashid Khan and Prathiba Bhagel really give it their all, and the result is a melodious gut wrenching number which you just cannot avoid listening to on loop!Issaq hits the screens July 26, looks like until then the makers are keeping us entertained with their lovable romantic sound track.

Is Kareena Kapoor Khan B-town’s new serial kisser?

Is Kareena Kapoor Khan B-town’s new

serial kisser?

If the latest goss is to be believed, Saif Ali Khan’s bindaas Begum has finally agreed to shoot steamy scenes with Bollywood’s original serial kisser Emraan Hashmi in their new film

Looks like Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to outdo Vidya Balan, who gave her boldest performance in Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture. The garma garam khabar is that after getting intimate with Arjun Rampal in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine last year, Bebo is all set to surprise her audience once again with her bold act in Ekta Kapoor’s new film with Emraan Hashmi. Hmmm…!
As our B-town jasoos excitedly told us, producer Ekta Kapoor managed to convince the Satyagraha actor to go all out, saying that the scene was quite significant to the storyline (really, Ekta? Or is it a ploy to make the movie a successful proposition by titillating the audience?). Initially, the Balaji head honcho wasn’t sure whether the married actor would agree to get between the sheets with The Dirty Picture actor. But the producer was surprised to learn that Kareena, unlike other married women in Bollywood, wasn’t reluctant to do what the role demanded, and showed no inhibitions at all to go raunchy with Emmy.
Wethinks Bebo’s bold decision will certainly raise eye-brows in the film industry, but we guess it will all be with élan. Just imagine how volatile it would be when B-town’s original serial kisser and the most gorgeous Kapoor girl make love on celluloid! All we hope is, that like her producer Ekta, her dearest shohar Saif Ali Khan keeps smiling too!

Amitabh Bachchan shoots for

Kalyan Jewellers ad with South stars

The Bollywood superstar shared pictures of himself with Manju Warrier, Nagarjuna, Prabhu Ganesan and Shivaraj Kumar

Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador of Kalyan Jewellers along with bahuraniAishwarya Rai Bachchan, yesterday shot for a new advertisement for the company.
The actor shared on location pictures, saying, “Working today for Kalyan Jewellers ad, campaign with the sons of three legends of the South Film Industry and a superstar from Malayalam, Manju Warrier.”
The children of South film legends he mentioned were: Telugu star Nagarjuna – son of Nageshwar Rao, Tamil star Prabhu – son of Sivaji Ganesan and Kannada star Shivaraj Kumar – son of Dr Raj Kumar.
Big B also added an interesting bit of info about Manju: “She had left films at her peak some 15 years ago and came back just because she wanted to be in this ad.”
Last year, Bachchan shot for impressive individual ads with the four male actors. For the new campaign, Manju joins the thespians. The video is part of the new brand campaign – Vishwasam Athalle Ellam.

Will Sunny Leone do a threesome in Jackpot?

Will Sunny Leone do a threesome in Jackpot?

Sunny Leone’s co-star Sachiin Joshi confirms that there will be a threesome in Kaizad Gustad’s Jackpot

Sunny Leone started her Bollywood career with Jism 2 and went on to grab some mainstream commercial films. She will be soon be seen in Sachiin Joshi’s Jackpotwhich will be loaded with steamy sequences. However Ms Leone had inhibitions doing any such scene that would take people back to her porn star image, which in turn might affect her Bollywood career.
Now that the makers of the film didn’t manage to get Sunny’s nod, it seems they are willing to garner some publicity even with this. That’s why you have the film’s lead actor claim that there is a threesome in the film when there’s none! Sachiin Joshi in an interview to a tabloid said, “Our film is about three cons outwitting one another only to lose and win again. It is a smart game like the roulette where you don’t know where the next move will take you. That is a threesome! With the three of us matching our wits”
We have heard of any publicity is good publicity formula in Bollywood; for an actor like Sachiin Joshi whose debut film Aazaan went unnoticed. With this, it is certain he’s piggy banking on someone like Sunny to get his few moments of sunshine! Guess even as Sunny wants to move on, her filmmakers want to make the most out of her porn star image.

Can a remake of Deewana replicate the Shahrukh Khan magic?

Can a remake of Deewana replicate

the Shahrukh Khan magic?

The 1992 blockbuster starring Rishi Kapoor, Divya Bharti and Shahrukh Khan will be remade…. with added tadka

Remember how Shahrukh Khan burst into the filmi scene as Bollywood’s next big talent when he made a starry entry with the popular Deewana song in the 1992 movie with the same name? The film became a hit and SRK received amazing reviews for his remarkable performance.
And now, two decades after the release of Deewana, producer Guddu Dhanoa is planning to reframe the movie, this time with a spin. We hear that Dhanoa is planning to take the tale forward without repeating the plot. “We are making a romantic film, but it is a completely different story. We are using the title Deewana, but something would be added to the title. It is like how the Bhatt’s are making films like Murder or Jannat. I am also doing something similar.” said Dhanoa in an interview.
The producer is ready with the script, but is yet to finalise the star cast. Will the Deewana remake offer a launch pad to yet another promising acting talent who will some day make it big in the industry? And most importantly, will the sequel be as engaging as SRK’s original Deewana?

Alia Bhatt makes a midriff baring statement!

The Student Of The Year babe was seen recently in a sexy high-waisted skirt and a super cool cropped top

For the launch of a fashion mag, Alia Bhatt kept it all voguish in a hot pink Topshop jacket and tied her hair into a cool ponytail. The babe was a vintage treat in that high-waisted skirt. And we must say that the pointy Louboutins are the perfect way to make the whole style very spicy and edgy. We personally feel she could have done away with the jacket – and instead of adding a hint of formal statement, just kept it all ravishingly retro and ultra young.
Just when we were done analysing her style, our eyes fell on the cover of the style glossy. Very creatively done – the feminine Bhatt is seen in a purple strapless dress, perched on the top of a ladder in hot and happening animal print shoes. The bob, the shiny red lipstick and the super cool youthful attitude – more than just enough to keep us hooked to the young babe’s style choices…

Is Salman Khan fit for action?

Is Salman Khan fit for action?

Is Salman Khan fit for action?

He is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood but recently his health has been a major concern. While Salman believes he is fit for an action film, wethinks the actor should take it slow

Salman Khan says he does action films to stay fit and he literally means it. The actor was suffering from a nerve disorder for which he underwent surgery in 2011. Despite being advised to stay away from heavy-duty action, Sallu miyaan went ahead and performed some high-octane action sequences for Kabir Khan’s film Ek Tha Tiger last year. The problem was diagnosed during the shooting of Partner (2007), and Salman was suffering even while shooting for Veer (2010). Apparently, Salman was under heavy medication, due to which he could finish shooting his films.
And now the actor has reportedly injured himself on the sets of Sohail Khan’s Mental. We hear the shooting of the film was stalled for sometime as Sallu suffered a hamstring and hurt his toe on the sets of the film. But it seems Salman did not suffer a major injury and is perfectly alright. He took to twitter to assure his fans that he is fine. “Not injured yaar, just a hamstring pull while running. Bak to action,” posted the actor. We hope the actor is not pushing himself just so his film Mental’s shooting schedule doesn’t suffer.
While Salman loves doing daredevil stunts, wethinks the actor should take a backseat for now to make sure he doesn’t aggravate his injury further!

What is Vidya Balan calling herself?

What is Vidya Balan calling herself?

What is Vidya Balan calling herself?

I am not an activist, says The Dirty Picture actor despite being associated with many social and human welfare causes

She may have played loud, crazy and eccentric roles onscreen, but in real life Vidya Balan is a philanthropist at heart. Besides campaigning for child nutrition, education and women’s empowerment, Vidya is now the brand ambassador for improving sanitary conditions in our country. Though she is well known for her humanitarian work, theKahaani actress maintains that she is not an activist. She prefers to be called as a humanist.
“My work is an extension of my beliefs. I don’t think I am an activist at all. I am an actor first and I try using that to leverage attention to some of the causes I am associated with. I think I am a humanist,” said Vidya.
While Vidya Balan has always impressed us with her acting, we are mighty impressed with her modesty! Aren’t you?

Bajatey Raho music review: The soundtrack fails to leave an impression

Bajatey Raho music review

Bajatey Raho music review: The soundtrack fails to leave an impression

The music of the Tusshar Kapoor film is just average

Film: Bajatey Raho; Music Director: Jaidev Kumar; Singers: Anmol Malik, Sona Mohapatra, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Manjeet Ral and Gajendra Varma
The music album of director Shashant Shah’s forthcoming revenge-comedy Bajatey Raho is made up of six tracks. While certain songs are attention-grabbing, others are monotonous.
The first track is Nagin dance sung by Anmol Malik. If the singer’s voice infuses fun, carefree feeling, the music is interesting with the pungi (trumpet) playing very efficiently. A good song to listen to, it could be termed as the highlight of the album.
Singer Sona Mohapatra tries to lift everyone’s spirits with the next number titled Khurafati ankhiya. Talking about naughty eyes, the song fails to maintain a rhythmic pace. Far from being a humber for the masses, it’s an extremely average track.
Fans of rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh would definitely tune in to listen to Kudi tu butter. Although the song reflects the singer’s carefree style of singing and lyrics have the Midas touch, it is lacklustre. The music has electro beats, but it does not have the kind of energy expected from Honey Singh.
The title track Bajatey raho disappoints thanks to its non-impressive composition. Singer Manjeet Ral of RDB band has tried to give it an international feel by adding a lot of rap, but it does not strike the right chord and rather sounds out of place.
The next in queue is the reprised version of Kudi tu butter. Sung by Gajendra Varma, this one is ‘music to ears’. Honey Singh’s rap sounds more interesting in this number than the original one. But even being an average number, it is much better than the others.
The last one on the album is Nagin dance remix. With a lot of beats, and loud mixing to the original track, it is made for discotheques.
The music album of Bajatey Raho lacks the kind of energy that would appeal to the masses. While more experiment could have been done with the compositions, it seems that the songs have been made because the movie needs them and not to tell a story to the audience. Certainly, it could have been much better.

Did Rani Mukerji’s high-handed behaviour lose her the Mary Kom biopic?

Did Rani Mukerji’s high-handed behaviour lose her the Mary Kom biopic?

Did Rani Mukerji’s high-handed behaviour lose her the Mary Kom biopic?

Well, it certainly did! We hear the dusky beauty made some unreasonable demands that miffed director Omung Kumar. And Priyanka Chopra won the role….

Rani Mukerji has always been touted as one of the finest actors in Bollywood. However, it was only after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black that Rani earned the tag ‘versatile actor’. So it’s not surprising that Bhansali wanted his favourite Ms Mukerji to play the coveted role of Olympic boxing champion Mary Kom on the silver screen. But when director Omung Kumar approached the Bengali babe, she laid down some not-so-reasonable demands.
Apparently Rani said that she would shoot a few scenes and if she was happy with them, she would consider doing the rest of the film. Now we’ve heard heroines throwing their weight around to get things done their way, but Rani seems to have redefined the meaning of ‘starry’ nakhraswith this one, wethinks. There was a time when this B-town beauty made it to the headlines only ‘coz of work and nothing else. But of late, Rani has been grabbing the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
Not long ago, there was loud buzz about how Rani would be starring only in Yash Raj Films and stay away from other banners. And now, by turning down Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project, she may have strained her relationship with the maverick director too. It is also said that Rani rejected the film as she didn’t want to experiment with her films or with newbie directors post the Aiyyaa debacle. But what’s puzzling is the fact that the Talaash actress has agreed to do YRF’s boldest film ever: Mardaani. that only reinforces the story that she would not do films outside rumoured beloved Aditya Chopra’s production house, no?
Now that we all know that Priyanka Chopra has been training and shooting for the Mary Kom role, wethinks the Bong babe made a big mistake by not accepting the film – it could have easily re-established her as a top star in B-town, don’t you think?

Pran deserved a better send-off:

Shatrughan Sinha

Actor Pran’s funeral saw very few Bollywood celebrities and actor Shatrughan Sinha feels the veteran deserved more respect

Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha was dismayed to see the poor turnout at the funeral of legendary actor Pran, the Bollywood villain audiences loved to hate. “I saw very few people from the film industry. A man who gave 70 years of his life to the film industry deserved a much more hefty send-off,” said Sinha.
Pran Kishan Sikand, popular as Pran, breathed his last at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai late Friday evening following prolonged illness. He was 93. His last rites were performed the next day and a handful of people like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Karan Johar, Raj Babbar and Shakti Kapoor came to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
Sinha, who cancelled his trip to Patna to attend the funeral, said: “There is no doubt Pranji was an institution. He has inspired generations of actors, including me. When I heard of his passing away, I immediately cancelled my trip to Patna to attend (the funeral).”
Recalling Satyajit Ray‘s condolence meeting at the Mehboob Studio on the doyen’s death, Sinha said, “This was Satyajit Ray who brought renown to Indian cinema and to the nation, the only Indian to win both the Oscar and the Bharat Ratna. And there was hardly anyone at the condolence meet. At Pranji’s funeral on Saturday, I was sadly reminded of Mr Ray’s condolence meet.”
Sinha says he was influenced by Pran. “I used to copy his hairstyle from Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai during my college days in Patna. Later, I got a chance to work with Pranji in films likeGanga Tera Pani AmritBuniyad and Vishwanath.”
“In Mere Apne, I paid Pranji a tribute by copying that idiosyncrasy of his from Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai whereby he kept scratching his neck,” he said.
“Pranji did almost 400 films. Indian cinema is a 100 years old, and he was there for 70 of those 100 years. Very few can equal that record. I’d say Pranji was a true achiever and a source of inspiration for generations of actors.”

Why is Salman Khan taking special interest in Bruna Abdullah?

Why is Salman Khan taking special interest in Bruna Abdullah?

Why is Salman Khan taking special interest in Bruna Abdullah?

He is fondly called as the godfather of gen next in Bollywood; has launched a few, stood by some and even turned a fitness trainer for many. But guess what role Salman is playing for Ms Abdullah

Salman Khan is doling out Hindi lessons to none other than half-Brazilian-half-Arabic actor Bruna Abdullah. While there was buzz about a romantic alliance between the two, it seems for now Bruna is just happy playing the shagird! Bruna bagged a cameo in Salman’s film Mentaland had to cope up with some impromptu improvisations suggested by Sallu. However not being well versed with Hindi, Salman came to her assistance and gave her some Hindi lessons. Bhai’s teaching capabilities are so good that Bruna finds him a better teacher than her current tutor Ujjwala.
Looks like this is one role that Salman loves playing in real life – that of a teacher, as for Bruna we certainly hope she manages to learn from Sallu’s knack of churning out hits too.

The Shootout At Wadala director is all set to make the most ambitious project of his life, this one also with John Abraham and Anil Kapoor, among others…

Sanjay Gupta is known for making dark and gritty films. After giving us gangster flicks like Kaante, Shootout At Lokhandwala (SAL) and Shootout At Wadala (SAW), the 43-year-old director is all set to make the most ambitious project of his life. The new film will be called Mumbai Saga, and will be set in the 1980s and 1990s. It is planned as a complete package of action, drama, politics and betrayal.
“Mumbai Saga is the title of my new film. It’s an epic crime saga set in the 1980s and 1990s,” Gupta posted on Twitter. After tasting box office success with the John Abraham starrer Shootout At Wadala, Gupta wants to repeat the cast of SAW for Mumbai Saga. We hear that John Abraham, Sonu Sood, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Tusshar Kapoor will be retained in this new thriller. “For now most of the cast of Shootout at Wadala will be retained in Mumbai Saga and some new will also join. Too soon to reveal more. @SonuSood, can’t wait to start bro. So miss being on set with all you guys. We’ll rock n roll again,” tweeted Gupta.
Now we are waiting to see if Gups can make the story look dramatically different without it making like a replica Shootout At Wadala! Even more suspenseful: Can he actually make John Abraham act this time around?

Avinesh Rekhi: My only focus at this time is Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon!

The television actor, who grabbed viewers’ attention after his stint on daily soap Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon says he wants to focus on his TV show at the moment

But if he gets a chance to act in a Bollywood film, he would love to do something likeAndaz Apna Apna.
“To be honest, I have not got any offers for films. My career has just started and my only focus at this time is Madhubala…, said Avinesh Rekhi while talking about his future plans.
“I love comedy films, my favourite movie is Andaz Apna Apna. I loved Aamir Khan’s character Amar in the film and would love to do something on the similar lines someday,” he added.
Seen as reticent and brooding Sultan on the show, Avinesh says that his on screen character’s traits are similar to his real life. “I am an introvert. I don’t talk much. I like staying at home when I am free, and if I am going out with friends for a party I prefer doing it either at my house or my friends’ house, basically house parties,” said Avinesh, who was earlier seen in the thriller-family dramaChhal – Sheh Aur Maat opposite actor Hunar Hali.
Talking about his character in both the shows, he admits that his characters are somewhat same in both the shows and added: “The only difference is that good Sultan had a change of heart after he got to know about the injustice done to his mother (Zarina Wahab) while Kabir, his character in Chal… changed from bad to good in the daily soap.”
