Happy New Year



Shahrukh Khan, who is still remembered for playing a psychotic lover in the 1993 release Darr is reportedly gearing up to portray a similar character yet again. While the news about Shahrukh accepting the offer to play the lead in Farah Khan's upcoming film, Happy New Year has been out since quite a while, the latest is he would be playing the role of a psychopath in the movie.

The superstar Khan played the part of a psychotic lover in Yash Chopra's Darr featuring Juhi Chawla andSunny Deol as well as Rahul Rawail's Anjaam starringMadhuri Dixit in the lead. He was appreciated for his acting talent in both these films and contributed immensely to their success at the box office. Apparently, post these movies he stopped playing the anti-hero characters and was flooded with offers to play the part of a romantic hero in a host of films. He is currently recognized as the King of Romance and the audience loves seeing him in this image. However, after so many years he has agreed to play a passionate psychotic lover yet again.

Though still to hit the floors, Farah's hunt for a suitable heroine for Happy New Year has constantly kept the film in news since quite a while. The movie features Bollywood actors Abhishek BachchanBoman Irani and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran in the significant roles. Recently it was also revealed that the ace choreographer turned director has short listed a newcomer to play the female lead in the movie.

As for SRK, he is presently busy planning various promotional strategies for his upcoming movie, Chennai Express and would soon begin shooting for Farah's film.
