Manoj Bajpayee to play Arun Gawli in
Sanjay Gupta’s next!
The Satya actor will step into the shoes of a gangster yet again
Manoj Bajpayee will be seen portraying the character of notorious gangster Arun Gawli on celluloid. For the next edition of Shootout, Sanjay Gupta has brought John Abraham, Abhishek Bahchan and Manoj Bajpayee on board. While Abhi and Johnny boy will be playing hardcore cops -AB Jr is stepping into the shoes of Vijay Salaskar, we hear – Bajpayee will be seen emulating Gawli’s signature style in the film. Everyone associated with the film is tightlipped about this new project.
But amidst all the hush hush we discovered one interesting anecdote. It seems that all those years ago, while shooting for Satya at Dagdi chawl- which happens to be Gawli’s home turf – the cast and crew got to interact with the gangster himself. Now that he is in jail for a long stint, that may not be as easily possible for the new team, unless Gupta and Bajpayee get special permission from the authorities in charge. But however they do it, we are sure that the Gangs of Wasseypur actor will do absolute justice to the role – he is an actor par excellence, after all!
