Manna Dey getting better, off ventilator



The ailing singer, who was hospitalised last month in Bangalore after he complained of a chest infection, is recovering, say hospital sources

Manna Dey fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. The legendary singer’s health has been improving, especially over the last two days, after the doctors took him off the ventilator. The 94-year-old singer was admitted to Bangalore’s Narayana Hrudayalayawith a chest infection and his condition was said to be critical at the time.
Considering the improvement in his health, the Meri desh ki dharti singer was taken off breathing support and according to hospital sources,, Manna da, as he is fondly known, was relaxing on a chair and listening to music yesterday. The legendary singer is suffering from kidney problems, for which he undergoes regular dialysis.
We are told that Manna Dey has undergone a tracheostomy and is on a liquid diet. But he is conscious and has been interacting with his daughter. We wish dearest Manna da a speedy recovery.
