Emraan Hashmi dons Aamir Khan’s hat for Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin remake

Emraan Hashmi dons Aamir Khan’s hat for Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin remake

The Ghanchakkar lad is back with the Bhatt camp and is all set to reprise Mr Perfectionist’s role in the remake of the 1991 cult classic

Any actor would agree with the fact that stepping into Aamir Khan’s shoes is a daunting task. But it seems Emraan Hashmi is up for the challenge with the remake of his uncle Mahesh Bhatt’s superhit rom-com Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin. It’s a little surprising, as Emmy’s cousin Pooja Bhatt, who was the female lead in the original, had expressed her desire to remake the film only with Ranbir Kapoor.
However, Mahesh Bhatt thinks Emraan fits the bill perfectly and is the right choice for the role. “Emmy fits this character like a glove. With this film, women who have secretly lusted for him so far will now fall in love with him,” said the director to a newspaper. Emraan has been Bhatt camp’s blue-eyed boy forever and that’s the reason Mr Bhatt is counting on him yet again, wethinks.
While Emraan will reprise Aamir’s role, the makers are yet to finalise the leading lady. Not long ago, Pooja had also said she would want her sister Alia Bhatt to play her character in the remake. But that seems unlikely now, as Emraan and Alia are cousins. So who will play the heroine in theDil Hai Ke Manta Nahin remake?

Oh yeah. Bewildered she was, wondering what the hysteria was all about! But now that she’s got her first tryst with fan adulation, Aaradhya will soon get used to it – we hope.

Why will Sonakshi Sinha not be in

Dabangg 3?

The Lootera star, who shot to fame with her sensational debut inDabangg and continued her successful association with the sequel, may not feature in Dabangg 3. Sonakshi explains why…

Unarguably one of the best female actors of the new generation, Sonakshi Sinhasashayed into Bollywood romancing none other than Salman Khan in Dabangg. Little did she know that her character Rajjo’s introduction line – Thappad se darr nahi lagta saab, pyaar se lagta hai – from her debut will not just make her a household name but also ink her name in the sequel of the blockbuster as well.
The hot goss in B-town suggests that Sona may not feature in Dabangg 3. That’s certainly not her decision, but the makers’! Shatrughan Sinha’s dearest daughter has recently revealed that since Dabangg 3 will be a prequel, and so her presence in it is uncertain. A source close to the actor tells us that the third part of the film will showcase Chulbul Pandey akaSalman’s life before he met Rajjo, and the instances that made him Robinhood Pandey.
“I don’t know if I will be in Dabangg 3,” revealed Sinha, “It all depends on the script and how they (makers) want to take it forward. From what I have heard they want to make a prequel. If that’s the case, I may not be in the film and that’s absolutely fine.” Sona also clarified that it won’t bother her if she gets detached from the successful franchise. “I will always be known as the Dabangg girl and that is what matters,” said Sona.
We like her confidence and wethinks Sona doesn’t really need to worry, considering she has an impressive lineup of films ahead with big stars, and an equally exciting career too!

Will Satya 2 see the light of the day?

Will Satya 2 see the light of the day?

Ram Gopal Varma has trouble finding buyers for his next film

It seems like Ram Gopal Varma will need to bank on every bit of the goodwill that he has generated over the years if he wants his latest film (Satya 2) to see the light of day. His sequel to the cult film Satya is apparently pulling in any willing takers, said a leading tabloid recently.
A feathered friend in the know confirmed the news. “He is finding it difficult to sell it. His office has approached some production houses, but the response has been lukewarm.” While the first Satya was a hit, Ramu’s reputation has taken a massive hit from then on, with a slew of flops like The Attacks of 26/11 and Aag, among others. Plus, with the absence of any major stars in RGV’s more recent films, it seems like production houses are not too keen on working with him!
Ramu, however, clarifies that “It is a trilingual film and the shooting is still under progress. The producers have not yet approached anyone to sell it, as they are waiting for its completion which will take a few months.” Which version is true remains to be seen.
All the best to Ramu – we hope that Satya 2 happens and helps the filmmaker get back on his feet. After all, he did make some fabulous films not that long ago!

Ghanchakkar box office: The Emraan Hashmi-Vidya Balan starrer earns Rs 23 crores in the opening weekend!

Ghanchakkar box office: The Emraan Hashmi-Vidya Balan starrer earns Rs 23 crores in the opening weekend!

Raj Kumar Gupta’s quirky comedy has managed to get off to a healthy start, but will it last?

Considering the movie title and Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan teaming up once again, Ghanchakkar was riding high on expectation. Though this Raj Kumar Guptahatke presentation has garnered mixed reviews from critics, the movie has managed to get a good number of footfalls, especially considering it’s a big solo release.
Ghanchakkar rests purely on the star power of its lead pair – Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. Despite unfavourable reviews, the film has managed a fairly good opening weekend,” informs the leading exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi. “Despite the fact that it’s an unconventional genre and has non-typical music, we are hoping that it can sustain this to come as close to the recovery numbers as possible.”
The movie was expected to show a big jump over the weekend. While business remained almost the same on Saturday, the movie starring Emraan and Vidya obviously saw a substantial leap in audience numbers on Sunday. Ghanchakkar collected Rs 23 crores nett in the first weekend.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh points out, “Ghanchakkar didn’t perform as expected. The presence of formidable stars ensured footfalls in the opening weekend, but business did not witness major growth on Saturday or Sunday, since the appreciation is missing.”

Sonam Kapoor talks about her chemistry with Dhanush on ETC Bollywood Business

Sonam Kapoor talks about her chemistry with Dhanush on ETC Bollywood Business

The Raanjhanaa pair Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor had an interesting conversation with trade expert Komal Nahta. The duo revealed what it took to make the Anand Rai’s production a success

Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor might have made for an unconventional couple in Anand Rai’s recently released move Raanjhanaa, but the kind of appreciation the two are getting for their fabulous performances is enviable.
The Kolaveri di singer and the Kapoor fashionista recently appeared on trade expert Komal Nahta’s popular chat show ETC Bollywood Business, where they discussed working on the film. “For the last 30 years I was used to only one language: Tamil, so it was difficult to speak in Hindi. I slogged a lot to complete the dubbing in Hindi as Anand Sir (director Anand Rai) insisted that I should dub myself. It took me about nine days to dub for this film; generally I take less than a day for my Tamil films,” said Dhanush.
Sonam Kapoor was her chirpy self on the show. The 27-year-old praised the Kolaveri di singer for his acting skills. But did she not face any problems performing scenes with Dhanush, even though he is not well versed with the language. “I knew Dhanush was a superstar in the South and I am a fan of his Kolavari di song. It was not that difficult to work with him, because I was not concentrating on his language, but the emotions I saw in his eyes,” explained Sonam.
The two young stars had a rollicking time on the show with Komal Nahta posing some really interesting questions to the two to know what made Raanjhanaa an interesting watch.
