to make Bollywood film
The Ghajini director and the international production house have extended their South partnership for a Hindi film
AR Murugadoss, a highly successful South film director, has been signed by Fox Star Studios to direct a Bollywood film. The director’s first Hindi movie was the Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini – a remake of his Tamil hit with the same title. His second Hindi outing is also a remake – of Vijay’s blockbuster Thuppaki. Titled Pistol, the film starsAkshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Vidyut Jamwal. Murugadoss’ third B’wood film will be with Fox Star.
The Ghajini director and the international production house have successfully worked together in the Tamil film industry. Of their three-film deal down South, two movies –Engaeyum Eppothum and Vathikuchi – released in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Their next - Raja Rani – is set to release in September this year.
About his new Hindi film, Murugadoss said in a statement, “Working with a studio like Fox Star Studios, has been a good experience for me. We are moving our partnership to the next stage now. I am happy to confirm that l will be directing a Hindi film with Fox next year. Besides Tamil, we are also looking forward to moving our production partnership in Hindi market to give a chance to young directors with strong scripts.”
