SRK, Salman, Hrithik, Ranbir: Actors before they became famous

Shah Rukh Khan, who grew up in Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi, had attended St. Columba's School where he was exhibited his skills in sports, drama, and academics. He even bagged the Sword of Honour, an annual award which was presented to the student who represented the spirit of the school.




He attended the Hansraj College (1985–1988) and completed graduation in Economics.




Even though he got enrolled for a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, he opted out to pursue a career in Bollywood. He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi. 




Hrithik was just six when he acted as a child artist in his first movie ‘Aasha’. He had appeared in a dance sequence as an extra in the film.




He has several minor roles - Aap Ke Deewane (1980) and Bhagwan Dada (1986) to his credit. As an assistant director, he assisted in the production of his father's films Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997).




Salman Khan, the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma, was meant to be in Bollywood.




He finished his schooling at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai along with brothers Arbaaz and Sohail. He even studied at The Scindia School, Gwalior for a few years with brother Arbaaz.




Ranbir Kapoor studied at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai. Ranbir, who was always weak in academics, passed his tenth standard with 53.4%.




This made his mother call him up and cry for passing his entire school life without failing a year, what no one in the Kapoor family had done so until then. He went on to pursue method acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.




After Akshay Kumar obtained a black belt in Taekwondo while in India, he studied martial arts in Bangkok, Thailand. In Thailand, he learned Muay Thai and also worked as a chef and waiter. On his return to Mumbai, he started teaching martial arts.




A student, who happened to be a photographer suggested him to take up modelling assignments.  For posing for two hours in front of the camera, for his first assignment, Kumar earned 5,000. This was much more than compared to his previous monthly salary of 4,000.
